Isaiah 43:24:
You have not bought me sweet cane with money,
or satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices.
But you have burdened me with your sins;
you have wearied me with your iniquities.
I highlighted this in my bible today. It reminded me that even the service we render to God is a grace from Him. Sometimes as we serve God, or attempt to live our lives for him to the fullest, we can start to become inflated in our minds. Thinking that we’ve brought something to him. Given him something that wasn’t already his.
This reminded me that we can do that, sure, but our good deeds and service are never brighter than our filthiness is dark. No matter how great a service we render to him, we are still “worse than nothing”.
It’s only by the grace of God in Jesus Christ that our filthiness is removed and we are given the opportunity, by God, to joyfully serve Him.
Let’s keep a humble spirit in all things, shall we?
